I mean, I understand that these things can be uncomfortable -- I remember the embarassment of asking questions and the fear of what my parents might do or what punishment would come my way, or if my boyfriend would reject me if I told him no. But I was more afraid of the alternative by not being responsible.I know boy and young men need to practice such responsibility as well, but i am focusing on young womem to help me re-learn the feelings and frustrations in an attempt to prepare myself for the discussions I intend to have with my girls. My oldest will be 9 next month. I am startng to notice the start of changes to come and I am scared out of my mind. So, instead of freaking out, I am chosing to re-educate myself by taking it to the source (you) and asking these types of questions so I can learn how to begin building that trust with my girls now.
