Their oily, at loss for a better word, hair was usually black, but occasionally white. They gloried in decay and darkness, and were definitely useful because of their strength, not intelligence. The gorg passed by and the three of them let out a collective breath. The first man nodded and they crept along the hallway, stopping only when another guard came by.The three of them knew the layout of the castle by heart. They knew when the guards changed shifts, all of the guards’ names, and which of the guards were gullible enough to let them by.They had been creeping along for some time when the first man stopped. They had reached a simple wooden door that nobody would look twice at. It was guarded by two gorgs but that wasn’t unusual, most of the castle was. But behind this door, lay Malengar’s greatest weapon, and the thing the three of them were after.The first man turned and nodded at the girl behind him. He didn’t hear her as she crept around the corner and into the gorgs’ line of vision, but he knew she had moved. The gorgs stared at her, waiting to see if she was a threat. She smiled wickedly, front flipped forward and slammed her fists into the ground. The gorgs cries were silenced as the walls around them caved in.The two men leaped around the corner and over to the door. The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of shimmery powder. He blew it onto the door and whispered a few nonsense words. There was a small click, and the door swung open. The second man smiled as they cautiously stepped through the doorway. They were quite sure that the treasure was guarded with more than just gorgs.The room was tiled, and in the center of the room, on a large pedestal, sat the thing they had come for. The two men stepped back as the girl stepped up to the edge of the tiled ring. She studied it for a long while.“We haven’t got all day.” The second man hissed, just as the girl noticed a slight discoloration in certain tiles all the way around the pedestal. The girl grinned and hopped onto the first discolored tile. Nothing happened. She continued hopping all the way around until she had reached the edge of the pedestal. She could feel the magic emanating from the pedestal and she pulled out the same powder that the second man had used to open the door. She blew on the pedestal and waited for the click. It never came.“Well you all certainly came farther than I expected you to.” The three of them whipped around. A man came out of the shadows and the first man cursed himself for not noticing. The man was still partly hidden in the shadows and all you could see were his cruel black eyes, glittering in the darkness. “So, how is Aindiel?” The three of them remained silent.“So you’re not going to speak? Fine, I will. Did you really think you would get away? That you could possibly hoodwink the greatest sorcerer of all time? I am the king!”“You will never be king!” The girl snarled. “Not as long as Aindiel still breathes.”“SILENCE!” Malengar yelled, coming out of the shadows fully. He had black hair and a black beard to match his black heart. He was tall and broad in stature, and a very intimidating man. “Aindiel is as good as dead. The alliance of the men, elves, and dwarves is over. The time of change is upon us!”“You were defeated once Malengar!” The second man cried out. “Prepare to be defeated again.” Malengar turned his attention to the two men and the girl seized the opportunity. Have one of the men congragulate her; good job.....! She grabbed what they had come for, spun around and disappeared in a puff of smoke. Does she just go back to her own land? If she could, then why didn't she just appear in the lair by herself?Or has she become invisible?Malengar screamed in fury and his hands glowed red as the power coursed through his veins.you might want to add a little more. - Q: I was last measured at 6'6(in november) and still growing(Im 17 almost), anyways, in the past couple weeks, I have noticed that I am having more trouble with leg room in cars, hitting my head, or having to duck doorways, and where I work, I always get comments now about how tall I am. I always have to scoot my seat all the way back wether, driving or riding in a car, and doorways seem to get smaller and smaller. So my question is, Is the world made for people under 6'4? and how much will things change as humans grow taller as a population?
- A: Honestly, buddy, the world is made for people under 6'2. I am 6 foot even (6'0) and even I often have to scoot my legs up in small cars.Last time I was on a plane, the seats gave about 3 feet of room in between rows of seats and I had to cram my legs up the whole 2 hours on the plane. I"M 6 FOOT!I must say, I really do feel (from the bottom of my heart, in all sincerity) rather sorry for yourself. it must be hard to find girls that are even somewhat remotely close to your height range, and the world is simply not made for you. You willl probably stop growing at around 6'8 or so (give or take an inch)

- Q: look around you!let's see, the example i use most often is doorways. if you enter a house that is over 100 years old, the original doorways are much shorter than they are today because people were shorter then. evolution has resulted in a present day taller human. take a look at germs - they evolve continuoulsy. you can't use antibiotics to kill certain germs because they have evolved so much that they are resistant to them.there are many examples of small scale evolution in today's world, i just don't understand why some people easily dismiss it? is it because it doesn't fit into their religious views?FISH: they can't evolve so drastically in such a short amount of time, be realistic!look at it this way, if there was a god, wouldn't he immediately change those creatures so they could survive????for those disputing my "doorway theory", the fact that we have superior diet and health, is in itself a form of evolution!if wordman can agree that there is micro evolution, how is it so hard to belive that there is macro evolution? we obviously can't witness it because we are only on this planet for a short amount of time. just expand your horizons a bit, and it should become clear!
- A: I'd say evolution is a proven theory and there's plenty of evidence to support it. Now, I still believe that there's a place for religion in the modern world since belief in a higher authority doesn't necessarily mean you need to dismiss science. There are those die-hard religious folk who refuse to bend, of course, the stalwarts of archaic writings so I wouldn't anticipate you being able to change their minds much like they cannot change yours. The concept of God, I have no problem with so long as it doesn't interfer with modern scientific research and the overall progress of mankind. I have no desire to live in the dark ages or have my curiosity given a blanket biblical response in lieu of a scientifically enlightened answer. I have my own theory that religion was basically a creation of man meant to explain or rationalize that which primitive cultures were unable to explain beyond attributing an event or state of natural being as that of divine creation or intervention. I also imagine being cognitive creatures, the fear of death had a great deal to do with it as well. Unfortunately, religion has also been perversely used to start or justify wars, genocide and persecute early scientists if their teachings or theories went beyond a stated religion's belief. Thankfully, the spanish inquisition is pretty much behind us these days, although the muslim extremists are doing a pretty fair job of again taking a decent concept and welding it as a deadly sword. Silencing your critics is not what enlightenment is about, whether it be religion or science. On a last note, Pope John Paul once admitted evolution was likely to be true and some of our most brillant scientists in the world also believe in God. You see, among the tolerant and wise, there is room for both to live together in harmory....
