- A: Bring your prescription, or the bottle to your employer, or whomever is conducting the test. After they kno you've been legitimately prescribed this medication, it should not be an issue. Also, if it's Lortabs you've been prescribed it's Tylenol & Hydrocodone, not Tylenol & Codeine. So, as I said, it'll show up on your drug test, but if they kno it was prescribed to you for this purpose, they should not hav issue with it

- A: They do not show up as the same thing.The most basic drug tests will test for opiates (only naturally occurring drugs like morphine and codeine are opiates). But heroin would also likely show up. Codeine and heroin are both prodrugs and more/less have no actions. But both break down into morphine, which is what causes pain relief.But hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid (and opioid refers to any drug (including opiates) that has actions on opioid receptors. Hydrocodone will not become morphine. When a test is done they will need to add extra tests to look for any semi-synthetic and synthetic drugs. So the basic test looks for drugs that involve morphine. But some companies test for a few extra drugs, primarily hydrocodone and oxycodone. If they are only testing for opiates (codeine and morphine) you will not be positive. All substances are different. Morphine is called morphine and hydrocodone is called hydrocodone because that is what they are. So a test for morphine won't look for a completely different substance.And if you have a legal prescription for the Lortab it will not matter.
