A: Hiv, is the virus that causes AIDS. No there not the same thing. Basically AIDS is the advanced stage of HIV. Its when your T cells drop below normal drastically, and at this point your body is susceptible to opportunistic infections like rare cancers and other illnesses that and otherwise healthy individual can overcome. They are both infectious diseases, that can be transmitted through blood, semen, vaginal fluid, dirty syringes and sexual intercourse. As far as the diarrhea, you probably have to be more specific. Like as far as wiping or cleaning him/or her, its unlikely. Just take universal precautions and always, always, wash your hands.I am a Health care worker and I deal with patients with; Hep. C,B and HIV/Aids.
