How do I get rid of a car leather stain that is dyed?
Q: So I had a purple piece of construction paper in my seat, on top of that a cooler, which leaked and I didnt realize it. Pickle juice from inside the cooler leaked out, caused the construction paper to leak out and dye my seat purple. It also has dark mildew spots. Nothing seems to be getting it out? ANY suggestions??? PLEASE HELP!!!!
A: This is a classic case of dye transfer and the best thing to use is LTT Maxi Cleaner which was specifically formulated for this problem. If this does not remove the dye transfer then it has redyed the leather and you will need to get a qualified leather technician to look at the problem and resolve it for you.Using a good quality leather protector will help inhibit this from happening in the furture. For further help read this:http://www.lttsolutions.net/dyetransfer....Please do not try old wives tales that are posted on the internet as they all have the potential to damage the leatherUsing thinners may work but will remove the finish on the leather which will then need replacing otherwise that area will be very vulnerable
