- A: Lortab is composed of 2 parts : acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Obviously you are concerned about the narcotic part of this drug which is hydrocodone. This drug has 3-4 hours half time which means it takes 3-4 hours for your body to metabolize 50% of the amount of the ingested drug. In 6-8 hours your body metabolizes 75% of this drug and the blood levels drop to 25% of original ingested amount. Of course it is excreted in urine, but I'm not sure what is the minimum amount that is detectable in lab test. With you taking it 2x a day I think there is a good chance it will be detected in your urine if they test for it.
