- A: I think its always more of a mental thing to be "not high" anymore. Things that helped me is eating a bit, taking a shower, and maybe a nap. Just like a lot of medicine and drugs, your body has to naturally get it out. I hear medical marijuana is potent so its going to take a while for your body to adapt to it especially if you are new to smoking. Over time the effects wont be as severe or last as long. Sleepyness is just a side effect of it, just like hunger. As I stated, it wont be as severe over time.Hang in there buddy! Don't let it get to you. Marijuana also is known to cause paranoia and anxiety, so just try and go with the flow and make the best of it.
