- A: My parents let me get my belly button pierced when I was 12, and they objected at first about it. You should print off loads of information about how to look after and clean your piercing and show them that you know what kind of metal bar to put in and what can happen if it gets infected etc... That worked on my parents :) Good luck. Btw it doesnt hurt at all. I had 4 belly button piercings, all around in a circle and only one of them hurt!! lol :)
